We are delighted to share the wonderful news that following our most recent inspection, the CQC have rated our Adult Inpatient Unit as ‘Good’.
This is the result of years of hard work by many individuals in our team, and invaluable support from the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust.

CQC commented that “staff treated people with kindness and respect whilst demonstrating effective communication skills”, and that “unprompted feedback from relatives described care as being of the highest standard and that it enabled people to have a dignified end.”

They also commented that “everyone at Butterwick Hospice should be proud of their efforts to improve the service.”

We are incredibly proud of this achievement, and want to thank those who have supported us in getting to this point. We will continue to strive for excellence and focus on continuous improvement of the services we offer our community.

Our Adult Inpatient Unit is based in our Stockton Hospice and we are currently accepting referrals through North Tees and Hartlepool Foundation Trust Specialist Palliative Care Team for end-of-life care.
