Butterwick Children’s Hospice provides care for children and young adults with life limiting conditions who require high levels of support, as well as support for their parents and family. The 6 bedroomed Children & Young Adult Unit is based at our Stockton Hospice.
Our Sunflower Room
Our Children’s Hospice offers a special place of rest for children and young adults who have sadly died. This dedicated space has specialist cooling equipment to ensure that family members and loved ones are able to spend time with their precious child prior to their funeral with support from our staff.
Family members can stay in our self-contained accommodation throughout this time with our team providing support for everyone, ranging from practical support, such as funeral planning and registering the death, to emotional support, such as offering bereavement support.
Referrals for care in our Children’s Hospice must be made through a Healthcare or Local Authority Professional, if you would like more information on this, please get in touch 01642 607742, or submit a referral enquiry form.
Please Note – Access to our Sunflower Room is not solely for the use of children and young adults known to the service. We will consider referrals from other areas with discussion from the healthcare team.
