We are looking for a volunteer to help us on Wednesdays, at our Stockton Hospice, to assist with the amalgamating, recording and preparing donations for banking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Amalgamating donations from various sources and recording the individual details on the banking ledger.
• Accurately preparing the paying in slips ready for the amalgamated cash to be taken to the bank.
• Reconciling and balancing the total on the banking ledger to the total per the paying in slip(s).
• Identifying and removing foreign and/or counterfeit notes and coins.
• Working to a high standard which ensures that banking discrepancies are minimal.
• Working in accordance with Butterwick Hospice’s financial procedures. Being aware of financial control procedures and confirming that they are being operated properly throughout the organisation. Reporting any identified weaknesses in financial control to the Finance Manager or Group Head of Finance, and taking a pro-active approach to action required to mitigate risk.

Training requirements:

As a Finance Volunteer Banker you will complete the following training:

• Butterwick Hospice mandatory training
• Volunteer induction training
• Any other training identified as appropriate to the role

Support and supervision:

Your first line of support and for any enquiries will be the Finance Assistants to support you in your role. Following that, your Line Manager is the Finance Manager.

Communications:

The Finance Team will regularly provide you with any information updates, training opportunities and upcoming events appropriate to your role.

You will be provided with a Butterwick Hospice volunteer badge.
