Volunteer Retail Assistant – new flagship shop – St Helen Auckland.

Location: St Helen Auckland, Unit 6, Bishop Auckland Retail Park, DL14 9TT

For 40 years, Butterwick Hospice has supported local people and communities across our regions of Teesside and County Durham. We provide holistic care for children and adults living with a life-limiting illness, as well as support for their families and loved ones. We believe in embracing life’s journey with compassion and care and aim to make every day the best it can be for each of our patients and their loved ones.

Do you have some spare time – then why not volunteer with us and do something amazing?  

Everyone has their own reasons for volunteering, often it is due to having some personal contact or experience with the hospice and a wish to give something back to us , other reasons include providing :

Give it a try – join our team – without the support of of wonderful volunteers, we couldn’t provide our services to the local community.  

We have several roles available, including:  :

Volunteer Retail Assistant – in our or new flagship shop at St Helen Auckland, Unit 6, Bishop Auckland Retail Park, DL14 9TT

Role summary: By selling donated goods, you can play your part, raising the vital funds we need to provide our services to the local community. You can also help the planet by giving items a second lease of life!

Usual Role Hours / Shift: Flexible hours to suit – Monday to Sunday. The hours you donate to helping us are up to you – whether it’s for a couple of hours or full day, once or twice a week – we really appreciate any help you can give us.

Uniform: Smart appearance, volunteer badge.

Main Tasks:

Work as part of a team, delivering excellent customer service you can help us with:

  • Sorting
  • Displaying
  • Selling merchandise
  • Generally helping out
  • Cleaning

We will also be re-locating our online sales operation to these premises and would like to hear from anyone that can help us by volunteering their time to list, photograph and package items we sell via the internet.

These roles will be based the St Helen Auckland shop – we have other retail sites in Barnard Castle, Cockerton, Middlesbrough, Billingham, Norton, Thornaby, Redcar and are always on the look out for more help in these locations too.
