Butterwick Hospice has been a pillar of care, compassion and support for those facing life-limiting illnesses across Teesside and County Durham for over 40 years. We provide holistic care for babies, children and adults living with a life limiting conditions, as well as their families and loved ones.

What We Do 

Butterwick Hospice offers a wide range of services, but to continue to deliver these vital services we need your help: 

• Palliative Care for children and adults  

• Emotional Support for patients and their families 

• Bereavement Counselling to help families facing bereavement 

• Holistic Therapies to enhance quality of life for patients and caregivers 

• Support Groups meeting people facing similar challenges helps to alleviate fears and feelings of isolation  

• Our Sunflower room a dedicated space with specialist cooling equipment to ensure that family members and loved ones are able to spend time with their precious child prior to their funeral 

As a charity, we rely on the generosity of our community of supporters to raise the millions needed annually to continue providing our critical services. In the words of our founder Mary Butterwick OBE: 

“This place is all about love. Without the love of the community, it can’t exist”
